Optical Engineering

We cover a broad range of opto-mechanical system design, from tiny photonic switching optics to heavy and massive lenses, mirrors and windows for high-powered laser systems. We've developed opto-mechanical design solutions using everything from inexpensive, off-the-shelf optics, to state-of-the-art berylium satellite mirrors. We designed inspection tooling for the primary mirror of the Spitzer Space Telescope.

Some of the optics we've worked with include:

  • OFF-AXIS ELLIPSOIDAL MIRRORS
  • OFF-AXIS PARABOLIC MIRRORS
  • REPLICATED OPTICS
  • LENSLET ARRAYS
  • DIODE ARRAYS
  • DEFORMABLE OPTICS
  • LEAK MIRRORS
  • CONDENSERS (pyramid and parabolic)
  • ASPHERES
  • LIGHT PIPES
  • GLASS SLAB AMPLIFIERS
  • POCKEL CELLS
  • APODIZERS
  • DIFFRACTION GRATINGS
  • POLARIZERS
  • HIGH-FLUENCE LENSES
  • ACYLINDRICAL LENSES
  • FIBEROPTIC SYSTEMS

Some of the opto-mechanical manipulators we've worked with include:

  • CG-MOUNTED OPTICS
  • TEMPERATURE COMPENSATING MOUNTS
  • FLEXURE PIVOTS
  • LIFT TABLES
  • GOTHIC-ARCH KINEMATIC MOUNTS
  • AIR-BEARING PLATFORMS
  • MULTIPLE DEGREE-OF-FREEDOM POSITIONERS
